Executing PnP PowerShell - Get-PnPAppInstance - Error

Hello All,

Greetings. Today discussing one issue and resolution.

Details

  • We need to get all the apps in our SharePoint site.
  • We used Connect-PnPOnline CMDLET to connect the site.
Connect-PnPOnline -Url '<My Site URL>' -ClientId '<My Client ID>'
-CertificatePath '<My Certificate Path>' -CertificatePassword <My Certificate Password>
  • We connected successfully.
  • Next, we executed the CMDLET – “Get-PnPAppInstance” to see all the apps having permissions on the connected site.
  • On execution of the CMDLET – “Get-PnPAppInstance” we are getting error.

Error

Get-PnPAppInstance: The term ‘Get-PnPAppInstance’ is not recognized as a name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or executable program.
Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.

Resolution

  • Did bit googling.
  • “Get-PnPAppInstance” is not recognized because it has been deprecated and completely removed from modern versions of the PnP PowerShell module.
  • We need to use “Get-PnPApp” PnP PowerShell CMDLET to get all the apps in my SharePoint site.
