PowerShell new release – v7.6.6

Greetings.

Today I am sharing an update regarding the new version of PowerShell.

PowerShell update : v7.6.6 Release of PowerShell.

Details

  • I am using Visual Studio code for writing my PowerShell scripts.
  • At bottom right corner, I got the notification regarding latest version of the PowerShell. Please refer Image 1 below.

  • Current version of PowerShell on my laptop was – v7.6.5.
Current PowerShell version

Git page of PowerShell latest version - https://github.com/PowerShell/PowerShell/releases/#release-v7.6.6

  • Download the respective latest PowerShell as per the our computer platform / configuration.
  • I will download Windows (x64) version as my Laptop have 64 bit Windows 11.

  • Install the respective downloaded version.
  • On successful installation we can see the upgraded version in PowerShell app as shown in below image.
